Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog.
My birth name is Alexis J. Manalio, but I primarily go by my nickname Alley. I live in southeastern New Jersey, roughly fifteen minutes from Ocean City and the famous shore. While we’re on the subject, let me just throw it out there that not all of us have terrible spray tans!
My story begins in the spring of 2012, when I graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science from the newly-renamed Stockton University. Following graduation, I interned at Walt Disney World for three months in Downtown Disney, moved back to New Jersey and quickly landed another internship while I searched for full-time work. It did not take long for me to realize that the path I was walking was not the one I wanted to pursue, so I began to explore other educational options based on past interests. In high school and college I took many web and graphic design electives, and briefly worked in Computer Services at my institution. With this in mind, it seemed natural to search for programs with a focus on computer design.
It gives me great pleasure to say that I am now undergoing my first semester at University of Florida as part of the online Master’s program for Mass Communication, with a concentration in Web Design and Online Communication. This blog is used for educational purposes, primarily as a showcase for my Digital Imagery in Web Design class.
Offline, I love to explore new places through travel. I love the natural world, and deeply enjoy hiking, camping, and simply being outdoors. I also really enjoy making anything with my hands: knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, painting– you name it, I love it! As a South Jerseyan, I fully support all Philly sports: Flyers, Phillies, and yes, the Eagles. Fall is my favorite season, so I’m really looking forward to bonfires, sweaters, and chillier weather.
So, that’s a little about yours truly! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
